Thanks for staying with us for this keynote, which in the end didn't bring a lot of novelties... but now that we know that the iPhone 5 didn't come out today, we can start guessing about when it will indeed come out!
And Engadget and The Verge for the pictures
Thanks to Engadget and Arstechnica for their live feeds
There was no iPhone 5, and no Steve Jobs
So it looks like that's it for tonight
here are the prices of the iphone line:

and 70 countries by the end of the year, available for over 100 carriers. Phil says it is the fastest rollout ever
and on the 28th it will be available in 22 more countries
It will be available on October 14th in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, France, Germany and Japan
The iPhone 4S is not more expensive than the iPhone 4
Siri will not be part of iOS 5, it will be available only for the iPhone 4S

Another cool use of Siri: dictation!

it works in English, French and German, but it is still a BETA
Siri is smart :-)

So this is Siri
You can even use it with Wikipedia

and with maps

you can use it to find restaurants

For example: if you ask "What time is it in Paris?":

You can ask a bunch of things to Siri!
it is a new assistant called Siri

Now Phil is unveiling one last feature, a feature that is all about voice:

back to the camera with a comparison with other smartphones:

On a side note, the antenna design has been changed in order to avoid a new "Antennagate"

And here is the iPhone on flickr... as usual

here are a few pictures of that new camera sensor:
Plus the time between 2 shots has been reduced to 0.5 second
There is now a backside illuminated sensor capturing 73% more light per pixel than the iPhone 4, a 33% faster shutter, better color accuracy
Phil is giving a lot of details about the new camera, because more pixels don't necessarily make better pictures
Of course, it features a new camera with now an 8 MP sensor
here is the battery life of the new iPhone 4S:

the graphics performance is possible thanks to dual core graphics
Without much surprise, it now comes with an A5 chip and it will feature up to 7 times faster graphics

Now, finally, the iPhone 4S
Also there is a decrease in price: the 8 GB model went down from $229 to $199

There is no big change except that it now comes in white
Here are its current features:

Now the iPod touch:

And here is the price of that new nano:

One cool new feature of that new model of nano is that it works right outside of the box, much like the new iOS 5 devices

Plus you can now wear the nano as a watch:

Those are the features of the Nano that was introduced last year. Tis year's model now includes Nike+website built-in

it's Phil Shiller who's on stage to present this one
first up, the new Nano
Now it's time for the new iPods:

There is now a "Find My Friends" feature... looks like Apple really likes geolocation of iPhone users :D

So let's go once again through all the features of iCloud: daily backup of your device, you re-download all your musics, apps, podcasts on all your devices, the camera roll is automatically synced on all your iDevices
iCloud will be available on October 12th, together with iOS 5
This is really the same keynote as we had a few months ago at the WWDC... quite disappointing so far
Now Eddy Cue is on stage to talk about iCloud

it will be compatible with the iPhone 4 and 3 GS iPad 1 and 2 and iPod touch 3rd and 4th generations
Just one more info, it will be available on October 12h
They are really going through all the new features of iOS 5 that were presented in June: new Safari, wireless updates, new Mail.
One more figure: there are 67 million Game Center accounts... it is not that much in the end when there are 250 million iOS devices out there, even with people using one account on several devices.

Now Forstall is talking about the new iOS features, that we already know about since they were unveiled by Steve at the WWDC: the new chat between all iOS devices (kind of like BBM) and the Camera button ont he lock screen.
The new app will be available on October 12th

it is by the way the first time people clap for something during this keynote... it was about time!
with that new app, you can email a card to anyone, and you can have it printed and mailed to anyone in the US for $2.99 and anywhere int eh world for $4.99
Scott is unveiling a new greetings card app...
Now the App Store: 18 billion downloads:

There are no less than 250 million iOS devices in the world

Scott Forstall is now on stage. He gives more figures: iOS has a 43% market share in the mobile OS market

Now there is more talk about the iPad...
This is getting quite long without a single announcement!
Apple has a 5% market share of the Worldwide mobile phone market, which includes all phones (smart and non smart ones :-)

(on a side note, the Apple share has lost 1.6% in value since the beginning of the keynote)
Apple is of course #1 in customer satisfaction

Now we get to the core of this keynote with the iPhone
out of those 45 million, 45% are sold to people buying their first iPod. That's a rather impressive figure!

Time explains that the iPod is still an important market for Apple:
The sales of iPod have reached 300 million units:

A few words about the iPod. With 78% of the music players market, it is without a doubt the #1 music player:

Apple now boasts a 23% market share on the computer market... that is if you consider that the iPad is a computer!

and the Mac market share is growing by 23% per year, while the PC is growing at only 4 %
There are now 58 million Intel based Macs in the world
6 million copies have been downloaded so far
Now Tim talks a little bit about the Mac and of course Mac OS Lion
Here is Tim Cook in front of the Hong Kong Apple Store (I've seen it last week, it's quite huge!)
They are now showing a video of the new stores... quite hard to show that on the live feed! (it's a shame that there is no more live stream)
China is a new market that Apple is targeting, and it opened two new Apple stores there last week, one in Hong Kong and one in Shanghai
It starts with some chit chat about the latest products launched by Apple, the Macbook Air, how well the stores are doing around the world
Even though it is not Steve Jobs, the presentation is quite similar

Tim Cook is on stage
Let the show begin!
There is apparently no live stream, but Apple is as usual recording the event, it should be online later today.

The event is about to start, here is a picture of the scene:

The Apple website in Japan announces that the iPhone 4S will come out on October 14th
(iPhone 4S launch date source: Macrumors)

As you probably already know, this will be a rather small keynote held at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, while the WWDC keynote was in San Francisco at the Moscone Center

We are about 15 minutes before the beginning of the event so stay tuned!!
Hello everyone, thanks for joining us today to follow the iPhone keynote
